Yesterday, Grandpa and Grandma K. took Isaac and I (Priscilla), to Bemidji for a Tea Party. We didn't even drink tea! There were two to three hundred people there with American flags or signs all lining the sidewalk. They were doing this all over the country in about 2,000+ towns and citys. We were taking a stand to show the government that we don't want more taxes, just like the Boston Tea Party but here we were not rioting or anything, just holding signs. I myself didn't have a sign to hold but I stood by the edge of the road anyway to support it.
Some of the signs said stuff like, "Endangered Species, Taxpayers", "T.E.A. Taxed Enough Already", "Stop robbing my piggy bank", "Don't tread on me", "Attention Washington, you are out of money", and "I'm only twelve and I'm already $36,000 in debt". There were three speakers and they did a very good job. It was at the Paul Bunyan park so I got my picture with Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. It was a good experience and fun.
AWESOME!!! I really wanted to attend the one here in Sioux Falls, but Daniel and I had to make an 8 hour round trip to pick up some organic wheat seed, so I wasn't able to make it. I'm so glad that so many people all over the nation turned out in protest! Now we can only pray that those voices will be heard...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that some of you attended a TEA party too. My mom, youngest brother and I went to the one in Bismarck yesterday and I posted some pictures on my blog, if you'd like to see one of the ND TEA parties...
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your family's blog and was wondering if it's alright with you if I link to it?
Blessings, fellow TEA drinkers.
Wow! That's pretty cool; I haven't heard of anything like that yet, but our town sure is going wacko with all the outrageous taxes!!:S Oh well!:)God is in control...
