A Post for You, Naomi!

Naomi enjoys seeing the addition progress so here goes!  I would guess the rest of you reading this enjoy knowing what we're up to as well!  Amos and Rebekah and the little men came over yesterday so Amos could help with some wiring questions.  I'm afraid this isn't the greatest picture of him but what he's doing is writing Bible verses on the studs.  Everyone in the family wrote verses all over the studs and walls. I couldn't get Daniel to even draw on the walls.  He just knew it was wrong to write on a wall!  By the time we were done he said someday he was going to build a house and do the same thing.  Oh we must be careful what we do! One of the Bible Bee families built a new house and had their local group write verses all over it and we liked the idea and kinda felt it was a good way to dedicate this room to God. If anyone else stops by they are welcome to add a verse!

Here's Silas doing some of the wiring.  The original part of the house we live in is almost 100 years old and  they didn't add wiring to the house till the 50's.  There are so few plug ins and light sockets so it was so fun to put in lots of plug ins and light switches in this room.

The picture kinda distorts the angle of the wall but Isaac started putting up insulation and sheet rock. You can see we have short sidewalls and hopefully that won't be a problem.

Meanwhile, the little men enjoyed playing with Legos.  I love watching Jeriah so intently studying pieces.

Our family has been watching the Way of the Master DVD's for family devotions and are so looking forward to opportunities to try out this method of evangelism.  Not that any method is easy. People don't always answer by the book!  Their needs and views are all so different but time is short and we need to reach out to the lost and leave the results to God.  Anyway, we recommend the series to anyone who wants to improve their witnessing skills.  We've also been singing through the old hymnbooks we have page by page. It's been really enjoyable learning some new songs that we really like.

The guys woke up to a water pipe that came apart in the barn and a lot of water on the floor. It took them a long time to clean it up.  So it goes.  Have a wonderful day knowing that our God is our Redeemer, Shepherd, Great Physician, Everlasting Father, and Savior!

Christmas at Our House

I have to admit, probably the most fun thing about Christmas is the grandchildren!  Esther is such a sweetheart and is SO much like Naomi was when she was little I can hardly believe it.  Takes a person back in time!

Little Anna is adorable too and looks more like Aaron's side of the family.  She has such a sweet smile and when she got a cold it was hard to see her not feeling good.  These little girls will be greatlly missed!

Then there's the active little boys!  I loved this picture of Jeriah reading the Cowboy Small book upsidedown.  I don't have a really good picture of it, but they each got new cowboy hats with pistols and holsters.  Jeriah especially seemed so tickled and pleased that he had something that big brothers weren't taking away from him.  Little girls are sweet and little boys are so much fun! They have such energy and eagerness to do things.

Um, I almost feel bad mentioning the word gun after this last week.  Very, very sad.  It's really sad too that people are unaware of how many lives guns save every day.  Of course we know the only real answer is our Savior Jesus Christ.  What a wonderful time of year to share the wonderful gift God has given us to all the hurting people in this world.  No, God doesn't take all the problems in life away but knowing there is someone that loves and cares about you makes such a difference. Try to find someone to share this great gift with this year.  That was our challenge this week in church and I challenge you with the same.

I'll post more tomorrow now that things have slowed down.

This and That

Yesterday Arthur (with help) worked on building a small shed to house the grill at the maze.  Miriam and I took a walk through the maze and some of it was over our heads!  Taking mostly the right trails, it took about a half an hour.  We did go slow and made some wrong turns.  We're so thankful for the rain as the corn looked pretty bad before that.

Oh, the joy that little grandchildren bring!  Anna is such a doll and we have really enjoyed having her and Esther and Naomi here.  They're in GF right now with Aaron but should be back sometime.  Yesterday we had the little men (David, Daniel and Jeriah) over while Amos and Rebekah did a few things.  They sure keep us busy and say the cutest things!  Like David said, "Are you Grandma Camille?" I guess he'd never heard my name attatched to Grandma before.

I am mortified!! Since the whole town will probably talk about it, I'll tell you.  I was on the phone calling about a perscription this morning.  I went on to tell the nice lady that "one of my husbands will pick it up later today." Agh!!  I meant to say one of my kids!  Arthur was there and thought it quite funny but said that maybe I better pick up the pills.

Have a great day!

4th of July

Well, another 4th of July is past.  One of my favorite things was watching David pick up candy at the parade.  All the kids were cute but he was extra fun to watch.  Sometimes he'd bend over and stare at the candy before picking it up.  Often someone else would grab it out from under his stare because he was so slow in deciding when to pick it up.
Jeriah was sure cute too.  Someone handed him a little flag and he was so happy about that flag.  Ah, I love my grandchildren!  Naomi has also been here so we've enjoyed having little girls around as well!
And then there was our maze float.  The cow (Elizabeth M.) was a real hit as was the corn cob.  The guys and girls did a great job passing out around 1,900 maze cards!  We loved how people really, really, wanted one of those cards!  Hopefully that is a sign that people will come out this fall.

And here's a close up photo.  Thanks, Matthew, for being the corn cob!  And thank you to Alexis, Dallas, Jonathan, Abby, Ronnie, Jessica, Krystal, Elizabeth, Rachel, Matthew, Silas, and Priscilla for all your help!!!!  We could not do it without you!!

Jeriah's Baby Shower

Last night our church had a shower for Amos and Rebekah's Jeriah.  Pam J. did a devotional about the blessing of children.  It was so good!  I'm not having children anymore but still want to keep the attitude of children being a blessing and to support younger mothers.  She gave examples of how the world is against having children and how they view them as a bother and expense.  It was so encouraging that there were even a few tears among the ladies.

The girls and I led in a game called, "Who Stole the Baby" based on the Clue game.  Rebekah was one of the "suspects", kind of anyway, who you went to to ask questions.  I wasn't sure how it would work but everyone seemed to enjoy it.  For those that want to know, Matthew M. took baby Nellie, put her in the church outdoor nativity set, in order to sell her, and he did it during Sunday School.  It was interesting anyway!

Naomi and Essie were there.  Essie was full of smiles.  Overall, there was a really good turn out considering all the flu going around.

Rebekah got lots of nice gifts which will make Jeriah one well dressed little guy.  I'm afraid I don't have a picture of him because the battery on my camera went dead so this is all the pictures I got, that were nice anyway.  Thank you Jaime, Ellen, and Stephanie for doing the shower!  It was very nice!  Thank you, Rebekah, for being such a wonderful daughter-in-law and for blessing us with grandchildren!  And thank you, Pam, for that wonderful reminder of the blessing from God that children are.  Makes me want to go out and adopt a whole bunch of them!  For those of you young mothers out there, don't get discouraged with all the hard work children are.  They are worth every bit of bother and expense, and are the best way to raise up disciples for God.  They truly are a blessing and the rewards of godly raised children are,  are,   are,   well, I can't think of a word to describe how wonderful they are!  It is my desire and prayer that all my daughters and daughter-in-laws be blessed with many, many olive plants!

On another note, I can't hardly wait for spring!  To be able to open the windows and to feel the ground under my feet sounds so wonderful!
