'Cilla's Project

Priscilla is working on tanning her deer hide in order to make a buckskin skirt.  First she soaked it in ashes and water, then scraped off the hair, then soaked it in vinegar and then baking soda and then battery acid and then baking soda again.  With lots of rinsing inbetween.  Arthur helped of course, and now they're rubbing it down with oil and working the hide to keep it soft.  We'll keep you posted on this project.  I guess it started back when she was a little girl and I sewed her an Indian dress for Thanksgiving one year.  She wore it just about everyday, till it was in rags, and then I made her another one she wore till that was in rags too.  Guess a leather one will last longer!

Thursday night we opened a few of our presents before some leave on trips.  It won't be long and Rebekah's new little one will be here!

Aaron is feeling much better but still has to take it easy.

Isaac with the adorable little Esther.  Sorry you can't see her whole face!

We've been celebrating Christmas with Arthur's side of the family this week.  Lots of presents, lots of fellowship, and lots of food!

Jeshua just couldn't wait to read his new book.

The Marvin Windows company in our town has such gorgeous trees every year.  I'm afraid my photo doesn't do it justice but I did like how it showed the snow that was lightly falling.

If you would, please pray for my sister-in-law Ellen and her family (Arthur's youngest sister).  Her husband Ron is not expected to live more than a couple of weeks due to cancer and so it is going to be a difficult Christmas.  Ron and Ellen have five children ranging from fourteen years old to two years old.  It has been a daily reminder to all of us that our time on this earth is short. We need to redeem the time that we do have and use it wisely serving God with our whole hearts.
