Combining Corn

My father-in-law is combining the maze corn today.  Yeah!  I love the maze and I love to see is cut down!  So far, the corn they've combined is fairly dry which is nice change from some years. Isaac has a nice grain bin at his place for drying corn if we need it.  This is the end of the cropwork for this year. Of course there's still bales to be moved home, cows to be moved home, fields to work up, and that kind of stuff.

I did try posting two other times which is why you haven't seen a post.  One time, I did a long post with lots of pictures, posted it, and discovered I'd put it on the maze blog.  :(  I did another long one but that one the pictures wouldn't download.

School is going good for Arthur. He beat all the kids at a game of softball.
Yup, it was him against the kids!
We only have carrots left in the garden and then that will be done.
There were 714 seeds in the "Guess the # of Seeds" pumpkin at the maze.
Jessica J. and Matthew M. should've been winners but what good would a season pass do them!
There were a few snowflakes in the air this morning.
Isaac is driving sugar beet trucks for a couple of weeks.  We miss you, Isaac!
Most of us don't think of sugar as a farm crop, but Isaac does!
Sold some more coonskin hats yesterday. The Granary store best seller!
Deep cleaned house yesterday and today.
Aaron and Naomi should be here any time!
Only for one day. :(
We're glad anyway for whatever time we have with them.

Have a great day in the Lord!

  1. Glad to hear your crop is good too. I'm combining now and its going well in our part of Minnesota. Corn's coming off the field at 16% and I'm not complaining!

  2. If you didn't delete the blogs you accidentally did on the corn maze, you can copy them over to this blog! I had to learn it the hard way too!!!
