GOP State Convention

Arthur and I had the privilege of going to the State Republican Convention this last week in Duluth. Having been to a few of them over the years, I would have to say it was the calmest one we've been too with very little debate over anything. It was also the most "depressing" for lack of a better word. I'm not sure where those reading this are at politically, but it was pretty much a room full of Cruz supporters who no longer had their candidate. The party tried to get us excited about the alternative, but even they weren't excited.

There were some high points, the most exciting being Dave Hughes! Mr. Hughes is running against Collin Peterson who has been in office for 26 years. Mr. Hughes is an Iraq veteran, homeschool dad of seven, and a conservative Christian. Mr. Hughes gave a great speech that made you think there is still hope for America. Please pray for this man and the upcoming election.

Finally back at home, things are super busy. We planted most of our garden and the pumpkins over at the maze. The crew is getting ready to plant petunias tomorrow up town. Priscilla is very much enjoying her week down in Missouri on the 24 team at the ACE International Student Convention. Miriam is getting things ready for her summer. For those that don't know, she is spending the summer working at a Bible camp. We are going to really miss her as she's the one that mows the yard, and has for years. She's also the one that really enjoys gardening and processing. The rest of us will have to fill in her big shoes. Yes, we planted a smaller garden :) Mainly because now that Isaac and Silas are married, we eat half of what we did before!

Enjoy your beautiful week everyone!

God is good, all the time!
All the time, God is good!
