CYIA - week 1

Hi, this is Naomi - while the last few blog posts were going on, us older kids were all at a CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) training in Devils Lake, ND, known as Christian Youth in Action (CYIA). We, along with other young people, spent most of the week studying Bible lessons (in the picture I'm telling the story of Jesus healing the Centurian's servant) Trying to tell them with the Gospel woven in each story and with enthusiam takes a lot of practice! The goal is for us all to be prepared to teach 5-day-clubs (a one hour club held every day for a week, made up of stories, songs, games, prizes....) and to be able to lead a child to Christ. Even though at times it seemed like all we did was study and go to classes, we had a lot of fun as well. It was a great week!

I missed a day and a half of the training to make this wedding cake (the bride and groom are both friends of ours from CYIA) - the camp where we were at in Devils Lake allowed me to bake it in their kitchen on Thursday and then on Friday morning I drove to Pembina, ND and decorated the cake at the church there. It was a beautiful wedding!
