Eeeew!

If you've ever wished you could be at our house, you don't want to be here today! Isaac trapped a skunk and although he skinned it outside it really, really stinks!!! I lit my strongest candle to kinda overpower the smell but you can still smell it. Believe it or not, they really do pay pretty good for skunk furs. Wonder what they do with them??!!
This, believe it or not is the scent spray of that huge skunk!! Isaac extracted it with a syringe. Perfume companies pay for this by the ounce, and yes, Isaac has his own fridge and freezer to store his furs!

Otherwise, Naomi is busy scrapbooking. Miriam, Hosanna, Silas and Priscilla are doing school. Arthur is hauling big round bales. Isaac has been banned from the house and so he's fencing. (that is with wire, not swords!) I'm doing some cleaning, laundry, and putting away the spaghetti jars that I canned yesterday. Have a great day!!

  3. Oh ICKY!!!! :P I HATE skunk smell...WHY do they want the scent stuff???!!! Now I'm getting grossed out...eeewwwwww...

I hope he's careful when he touches skunks...Andrew, my brother-in-law, trapped a skunk a few years ago, and it ended up being rabid...and since he skinned it, and got some of it's fluids on his skin, he had to go in and get the nasty round of rabies shots...NOT fun!!

  4. Just for the record, Isaac does wear long waterproof gloves when he handles animals. Even so, I've been having him read some ariticles on the issue just to educate him.

  5. Good precautions!! :) I'd hate for him to catch anything like that, but at the same time it's great that he has this opportunity! Tell him congrats for me. ;)
