We survived the recital!

This is me (Naomi) and all "my" piano students (I know, over half of them are taller than me...) - they aren't all full time students (for instance, my sisters don't always get a weekly lesson - especially if I haven't heard them practicing!) but I love them all!

Tonight we had our first (only?) recital! I was probably more nervous than if I was playing - at least then I could practice! It was a feeling I'd never felt before! But anyway, like most nervous feelings, they were completely wasted - everyone did wonderful! I noticed a few mistakes, but I also noticed all the places they could have "messed up" and didn't :) So overall, I was very happy - and I'm a little glad it's over - and the parents are probably very ready to hear something other than the recital songs!

Let's see - the whole thing took half an hour - some of the songs played were "Joy to the World", "Jingle Bells", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman", "Pat-a-pan", "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and "Silent Night" - Mom made some amazing snacks for afterwards - Silas poured punch - all the students are homeschooled and the families seemed to enjoy visiting - about 50 people attended - I played a duet part with two different songs - we were a little worried we'd have to cancel because it snowed a lot today - and that's about all I can think of to say - Have a wonderful Sunday!

  2. Well, like I said, they're not all full-time students. I only give the H kids lessons once a month...and the boy in the yellow shirt is the youngest H boy - Stephen. He is really cute! I love his curly hair!

I'm really looking forward to seeing you too! - It's been way too long!
