Week 4 of the Corn Maze

I'm glad there weren't any other children in the castle to watch Ethan jump from one bale to another. Yes, he made it!

One of Arthur's favorite things to do is to feed the calf with a bottle. It can drink just fine out of a pail but it seems like the children all think the bottle is cool. And the poor bull calf, it is always called a "little cow"! You're not a cow until you've had a calf and this little guy will never be a cow. Other than in general terms like, "the cows are out!"

Our kids are still gone on the trip that Arthur and I came back early from so the J. family kids came on out to help us this weekend. We couldn't have done it without them!! Thank you so much guys!!!! This is Nathan who gave hayrides some when Arthur had other things to do.

This cute group of little girls came out. I think there were about eight of them altogether and I thought this was a cute picture of them waiting for their turn at the giant slingshot. Oh, I wish we could send a bus around and pick all of you up to come to the maze! It is so fun watching other people have fun!!

Karen helped at the concession / admissions stand along with Jessica and Crystal. I was really glad for this because when I have a group of people come up and say, "two adults, one 14 year old, a 12 year old, one five year old and a toddler", my mind draws a blank and I can hardly figure out what they owe. Math was never my strong point but after a few weekends now, it is getting a lot easier.

Okay, I thought I'd share a little about some of the things we sell. This is a cookie dough brownie. They are awesome and we sell a lot of them. They are basically a brownie with a chocolate chip cookie dough type filling with frosting and sometimes nuts on top. Mmm! We'll share the recipe sometime. We even had a lady come out on Saturday just to buy some more of these brownies.

It's hard to tell by this picture but we sell tons of giant popcorn balls. I told my family there is no way I'm making popcorn balls for Christmas this year!

Well, it was a good weekend. The biggest so far and we were really kept busy. We've had some people think that it seems like an easy way to make money. Hah! It is a lot of hard work but even so, we plan on doing it again next year. It's funny the things God brings our way. If we could see what God has planned for us ten years from now we'd probably all panic, but when the time actually comes he gives us the grace to handle the situations and the work involved.

Anyway, I need to go. The house is a disaster and since everyone is gone I need to get it clean for company coming later today, and hopefully the kids will be home tonight.
