Well, it was a LONG weekend! Everyone had a good time including my niece Melita. Isn't she cute!
We had steady traffic Friday, Saturday and Monday and since it was really hot, the waterballoon slingshot was a big hit. Sometimes the younger kids team up to pull the slingshot as far back as possible. If they hit the bull or flower target they get a free can of pop. Not as easy as it looks!
Arthur keeps really busy doing hayrides, one after another. Miriam kept busy just about the whole time filling water balloons and Silas runs the slingshot. Naomi, Priscilla and I man the admission / concession stand. Hosanna worked Friday and Saturday when Naomi and Priscilla were gone to a shower in SD.
Isn't he handsome! Sure looks the part of a cowboy/farmer anyway! We've known just about everybody that came through so Arthur really enjoys visiting and talking farming and answering everyone's questions. Word is really getting out though and we've been told by a few people now that that's what everyone is talking about in the nearby factories.
In the back you can see some of our local Red Hat Ladies. Oh did they have fun! They must've taken 300 pictures and hooted and laughed the whole time. That sure makes it worth it. We figured the maze was probably way too easy but apparently it isn't. It's taking everyone at least 1/2 hour and on up to one and a half hours. Many even come out the entrance and never make it through!
You know, we see a lot of people wander around for so long and refuse to take a map. (that's really okay in a maze!) Anyway, it reminds us about how so many people are wandering around in their lives here on earth and refuse to listen to God's Word for directions to heaven. Most will find out they won't make it. What a good reminder that time is short and we need to do all we can to reach out to those around us with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Your Maze looks like soooooo much fun! I wish I could come up and go through it! But with mom being due any time, I probably shouldn't be going anywhere right now. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust FYI, Mom is 40 weeks today, so according to the typical pregnancy, her due date is today, but she is almost always 2 weeks late.
Looks like fun...I wish we could come up too!!! :) Keep up the good work!!!
ReplyDeleteI would probably not take a map, just because it would be more fun to get lost.
ReplyDeleteThen again, I was the one that hoped to get lost in the Alaskan wilderness when my grandparents took me on a trip their when I was 16. Buuut, I'm glad I didn't.
There. Not Their. Sorry, I can't help but fixing my spelling mistakes.
