Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful, but the Snow is So Delightful...

Not sure if the cows agree with that song! Arthur spent a couple of long days before Christmas making sure the beef cows outside had hay and straw but even so, it takes a lot of work when it's snowing so hard , and long, to keep everything comfortable.
Around here we've gotten about 12 inches or so. It's kinda hard to tell because the wind has been blowing and there's nice drifts everywhere. How many inches did you all get? For some reason, my kids think it's fun to run out in the snow barefoot! Every year they enjoy the fresh snow this way - at least for a short while! I guess kicking it up with bare feet is a rather cool feeling!

It was snowing bad enough that the cousins who were at Grandpa's and Grandma's house yesterday spent the night. The girls had fun sleeping here and having a mini chess tournament this morning with Silas' input.

Sorry these pictures are out of order. This was last night when Arthur was hauling home some gifts from his parents house to ours. We live next door which is really handy when it's snowing.

This is one of the big drifts burying my Father-in-laws truck. I love how you can see the snow blowing off the roof.

Arthur also gave Daniel his first sled ride of the season. He ended up falling on his back but just rode nicely laying there.

We opened gifts at our house yesterday after singing some carols and reciting Luke 2. Naomi enjoyed having Aaron around for hours and hours!

Daniel with a new puzzle. If you put the piece in, the farm animal makes it's noise. He's not very good at it but he'll learn. He sure enjoyed trying with his tongue sticking out in concentration.

Okay, Miriam has always bugged us about having a corn maze. She hates working with customers and dreads it very much. Anyway, we talk about it a lot and she hates that too. So, when I saw a book about mazes by Adrian Fisher, I couldn't help but get it for Miriam. It was really funny to see her face when she opened it!
Daniel got really good at ripping paper off gifts! Rebekah and Amos are such good parents!

In the Christmas eve program at church David played the part of baby Jesus. No crying he made! It was a really nice program.
Naomi and Priscilla sang in the choir.

Before the program I got a picture of the girls. So that's it for now. Hope you all had a great Christmas! We still have a couple of family get-togethers. Less than two weeks till the wedding!
