Opening Maze Weekend

Well, we survived our opening maze weekend, exhausted but happy and grateful.  We don't expect too many opening weekend but we had enough this year to make it fun.  First, let me tell you about the granary since a few of you asked about it.  Here it is after the hard work of scrapping it, putting in windows and replacing some floor boards, putting in doors, and painting it.  Thank you so much to those of you that worked on this fun project!!!  We appreciate it so much!  In fact, we couldn't even have the maze at all if it wasn't for good friends and family.  Thank you all!

The girls and I spent an afternoon making up lots of jar mixes that look so pretty on the shelves.

Rebekah made some "hair poms" and hair flowers.  The poms are in our local schoool colors and we sold a few of them already.

My sister-in-law, Ellen, made some dish towels to sell.  Ellen is also helping me out by working in the store some.  Thank you, Ellen!  If you look close, you can see the shelves are made with chicken wire.  I wanted something unique that you don't see other places and it works nice.

At the store counter we sell a little candy.  In the store you can also find Isaac's furs - coyote, skunk, otter, beaver, and racoon.  Yes, we sold the skunk fur!  You will also find, jewelry, toy rubber band guns (which sold out!), organic flour and stuff from Natural Way Mills which is not far from here, and decorations and other "stuff".  Oh, I didn't mention Silas and Priscilla's bleached and cleaned cow skulls!!  At least they are unique to our store and no one else has any just like them!!

I was too busy to get pictures of the maze but yesterday we had a church and friends going away party for Aaron and Naomi, Rueben, Emily, and Julie.  This is our concession / admissions stand.  Silas and Priscilla run the "Pitchfork", better known as a grill.

The bale mountain made a great place to get a family picture of the K. side of the family.

Then the cousins got a picture.

The little guys loved playing in the bale castle.

Priscilla is always excited to get together with her cousins.

And these are the great grandchildren. Cookies kept a David and Daniel happy but I'm afraid the others just cried so we took the picture quick!

Need a place that tons of children can play on at one time, build a bale mountain!

Cousins, Jonathan, Elizabeth, and Silas are all the same age.

Arthur did a lot of hayrides this weekend.

I love this picture of Melita and David.  They were both so happy.

Daniel hardly left the sand pile all day.  So, we had a good weekend.  God is good!
