Catchup

Christmas went really good. We enjoyed having Aaron and Naomi and little Esther here for over a week.  We enjoyed all the multiple family get-togethers we had with both sides of the family. We had a nice church program. We enjoyed making goodies to pass out to neighbors. This is our yearly Christmas Eve picture of the girls.
Isaac has been working hard on getting his furs ready for shipping this week.  Left to right, top row they are: beavers, weasels, muskrats, mink (can't see those as good) Bottom row, otters, raccoons, skunks, fox, and coyotes (brush wolves)  Apparently, most of them go to China, Russia, Hong Kong and other countries.

Now it's time to get all those winter projects done that have been hanging over my head.  I've been painting my bedroom.  I did some one day and then lived with it a couple of days and decided  I couldn't live with it anymore and so I darkened the paint and it's a little better.   Also working ahead on a few projects for the maze.  I'd like to have as much done on it as possible before summer so I can enjoy gardening a little more.

Well, have a great day, in this gorgeous weather, praising God for His blessings!

  1. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the bedroom! Beautiful one of the girls and that's quite an impressive "batch" of furs!

  2. It was so nice to see you all again! Does Isaac sell his furs personally or send them to a retailer of some sort?

  3. Naomi, I might just be too embarrassed with the room to post a picture, we'll see ;)

Rachel, Isaac gave them to a guy who brings them to a fur auction with buyers from around the world. It was nice to see you all too!

  6. How much does Isaac make on his furs. Well, Isaac said the market swings up and down quite a bit. He won't actually get paid till after the auction in another month so we'll have to see then. Most things sell between $5 and $70 with otters maybe a little higher depending on the quality.

I have one more day of painting. Maybe more. I need to do some ceiling repair and scrape some peeling paint so we'll see.
