And The Exciting News Is -

Priscilla had her book printed!
Priscilla started writing this in eighth grade and after finishing book one, she went on to write book two, and book three.  It started out as an English project using the One Year Adventure Novel curriculum and we never dreamed it would take this long.  She wrote, we corrected, gave suggestions, she corrected, we corrected, she corrected, over and over. Yes, it still has some typos and grammatical errors, but after reading it over and over, you start to not see them! We looked at her options for publishing it and decided to do a 3-in-One book and self publish it.  Priscilla did send it to a few publishers but they weren't interested.  Not a surprise since she didn't have a book agent, and most publishers reject about 99% of  manuscripts they get, especially from a 17 year old!  That's okay, and we found self publishing to be fairly easy and fun to do.
The book, Adventures of Amy, is almost 500 pages. The story is about a girl named Amy who isn't who she thinks she is, goes through all kinds of narrow escapes from those that want to get something she doesn't even know she has, and ends with a mystery. It is a Christian book and its not something you would be afraid to let your children read.  I would say it is written for those 10 - 14 but anyone would enjoy it. For those that know Krystal J., she is the cover girl!

As as her mom, I think its pretty good reading and gave her an A+ on the project :)  She would love you to ask her about it, or if you want to buy one, you can get them at her website

(Sorry for you that were expecting an engagement or something like that!  Priscilla would say this is way more exciting!)

  1. Oh this IS exciting news!! So happy for your Priscilla! We've been reading your family blog for quite a while, and are so encouraged by your family. It's such a blessing to hear about your heart for evangelism and all the ways you find to share the gospel! It would be so fun to meet in person some day! I (Karen) am also a writer, and am working toward getting my first book published. I'd love to talk to you about what you did for self-publishing etc. and about witnessing, and so many other things! :-)
Congratulations on getting your book printed!
