I thought Rebekah's family would like this one. We made some pineapple rhubarb jam and some strawberry rhurbarb jam. We had some left when it was time for supper so we used it as ice cream topping. It was sure a quiet afternoon with just Rebekah, Daniel and I around. I'll be glad to have the kids home tomorrow for a couple of days.
Money going down the drain? Well, sorta. Somehow the milk from yesterday had a strange taste to it so we ran it down the drain (that couldn't keep up!). We never did figure out what it was but today's milk is fine again. Some people figured it was because we just put the cows out on pasture. Who knows. We just didn't want to have a bad milk tank so it was better to play it safe. We won't cry over spilled milk!
I Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.
Wow! Do you have some baby calves still that would have enjoyed drinking it?
ReplyDeleteWow, I must say that butchering chickens was something I never would have thought to try when my parents weren't home...or EVER, really!!! :) That's something I've never had much taste for. Good for her tho...at least she's proved herself very capable!! :) Rebekah is sure looking pregnant too! I keep forgetting how far along she is, and so am surpised when I see a pic of her! She's due in October, right? My due date was 2 months from yesterday...hope I won't have to wait any longer than that!!! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! The jam looks and sounds delicious...
ReplyDeleteOur cows milk has been having a funny taste to it too since we put them out on grass (and weeds!) Our kitties and calves don't mind, though, just the people do!
