Oats Harvest

The last couple of days the guys have been working on harvesting oats. You can't see him very good but this is Isaac swathing the oats.

Today Arthur started combining. This is one of the farm jobs Arthur absolutely loves to to. It's also been such a beautiful week with some of the warmest weather we've had all summer.
The sister relationship is so sweet!
Otherwise, we canned salsa and pickles today.

So have a great evening enjoying God's blessings!

  2. Swathing is when you take the "swather", a piece of equipment, and cut the oats. I'll try to post a picture of it. By the way, one of my sisters best friends from college had the name Jutta pronounced Utah. I thought she was the only one with that name and she was from Germany. I like it!

  3. The guys here just got done with the wheat...it should have been done awhile ago but it's been so wet they couldn't combine it. Combining is a job Daniel usually enjoys too...as long as everything is going well!! :) Last year he was doing corn and I was riding with him, and one of the wheels snapped off!!!! That was kinda freaky...

  4. Sorry, (confusion) i guess it's not clear, I'm actually the reader from Utah that you spoke of when you wanted all of the annon. readers to come forth! I just wanted to identify myself in a way that would be familiar to you. I guess it didn't come accross right!

Those are a lot of oats! I am an amateur photographer and would so love a chance to take pics of that beautiful field.
