Hosanna and I have been working on a few "Mazy Rag Dolls" for the Corn Maze store. Just like real people, they are NOT perfect and VERY different from each other! My trial one had such a strange head so I keep trying to change it to make it better and ended up with a whole assortment of different dolls with different personalities. We had fun and I enjoyed praying for each girl that hopefully will buy the dolls as I was making them. We would love to hear any constructive critism before we make another batch! Really, any help we get we will consider! Which one is your favorite? Should we give them names? And what would you call them?
Meanwhile, we wait for a call from Naomi telling us the baby is coming. You wouldn't believe how many times the phone has rang the last few days! Isaac has one sick cow that he poured over vet books to figure out it's problem. Finally he called the vet, got some advice, got the medicine, and gave the cow a heavy dose, and learned a lot in the process. Hopefully it will recover. Arthur fed the beef cows round bales which is a big job this time of year. The nice weather sure helps.
Have a great evening! |
I love the dolls!! Ya'll did a great job!! The one on the bottom right reminds me of the little girl that represents Wendys resturants!
ReplyDeletethe dolls are awesome. I think you should name them.
ReplyDeleteWow, really creative. I would have a little tag with their names on them, and maybe even a verse. Alot more work, but you could make matching dresses for them that the "mother" could wear. Hope Naomi sees the little one soon. Blessings
ReplyDeleteThe nearest Wendy's is about a three hour drive so I had to look her up, and you're right, she does look like Wendy! I was thinking of a tag around her wrist as well with info including a name and maybe a verse or a character trait she demonstrates. Also thought of the matching dresses. Maybe when I get time! Thanks for your ideas and thoughts!
ReplyDeleteAlso plan on making shoes when I get them all done.
ReplyDeleteThe dolls are very cute! We are praying for Naomi and the baby.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear Naomi's baby is here!!! :) I think the "Wendy's" doll is my favorite too. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the dolls are adorable. YOu could name them biblical names and include a "meaning" of the names, or even names like charity faith, hope, etc...and include a verse that encourages young girls to be those qualitites or like the biblical charachter they are named after. I love the thought!
ReplyDeleteLove all the dolls!!! What a great idea! The name with the meaning and memory verse is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your creativity at work!
I was just thinking of making some rag dolls for my granddaughters. Long ago I made some small ones that were supposed to look like the girls from Little Women. Your dolls are very cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I think the blond one reminds me of Amy on Dudly Dumpling :) You might need to make more if they all sell the first week!
ReplyDeleteLove, love your dolls! Well done!
