The Doors are In

I'm sorry if you're sick of hearing about the addition!  Here's Jeshua and Dad K. helping put in the doors.

And here they are.  We wanted to keep the original woodwork on the sides but needed a matching piece for the top, so, Arthur and I went around the house and decided the trim piece behind the boys bedroom door would be least missed and took that piece!  Yes, Arthur put up a new one there but if I can't get the stain to match exactly at least it won't be so obvious there as it would be here.  And no, the guys don't care at all.  Well, Silas doesn't and Isaac isn't here. He should've arrived in New Mexico last night.  Guess they ran across lots of icy freeways that slowed down their travel. Please pray that his time there will be profitable.  I'm not sure I mentioned it but he's helping do some maintenance work at a Bible camp that ministers mainly to the Navajos.

Any suggestions what to do with the doors?  Leave them?  Paint them the color of the walls?  Try to stain them?  Not sure if you can stain metal doors.  I do love the dark woodwork in this house but the addition room will have white woodwork because the windows and doors were mostly primed white when we got them.

Everyone else is off playing hockey as I write.  Well, have a wonderful day!

  1. I'm so happy for you to have more room now! It looks so cozy! I enjoyed hearing your story about finding the needed piece of trim..... :)

    God bless you all!~

  2. There can never be too many pictures of a project!
Looks like the addition is coming along quite nicely!
Can't wait to see the finished result :)

  3. Wow, that really changes the look of your living room!! :) Looks good!!

  4. Thank you, Cora, we look foward to using the extra room! Especially when we have the whole family here. Good, Jon, you'll probably see a lot more before we're done! Rachel, next time you come up this way be sure to stop in and look!

We'd love to hear what you have to say!
